#4: In an effort to save money, I have chosen not to arrange for special transportation. My fiance and I will be driven to the Historic Shelton in separate cars to keep the tradition of not seeing the bride before the ceremony. After all of the day's events, we will leave in one of our own vehicles to the hotel and eventually the airport.
#5: I chose to use an online gift registry called http://www.myregistry.com/ to allow my guests the option of shopping from their own homes. I also registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and Target.
#6: As for my photographer, I chose to utilize my contacts with the Mass Communications department to book a photography student. I figured that it would be cheaper, allow the students to build their professional portfolio, and it would be easier to book them at the last minute.

Majorly Important Minor Issues part 1
First I must appologize for my absence, there has been so much to research, that I have neglected to update the information here. I have many updates to cover, so lets get started!
#1: I was lucky to find a reception site that has an all inclusive package. My budget is easy to tally up because many of the small details are included in the price. The goal is to spend less than $10,000, hopefully closer to $7,000.
#2: My reception site's package includes a personalized music playlist from an IPOD. I was able to choose what songs I wanted from a list of 3,500 songs. My reception package also includes my flowers. I decided to go with a traditional flower, the rose, for my bouquet and the bouttoniers. The centerpeices are similar to the bouquet with small votive candles randomly placed throughout the tables.
#3: When getting married, the most important details are the legal details, even though they may not be the most fun. Remember you must get a marriage license. The laws differ from state to state, but in Idaho it is rather simple. It costs $28 and both the bride and groom must be present with valid drivers licenses. There is no wait time, so it can be purchased on the day of the ceremony, although I would recomend getting it before your big day. Other states may require a blood test, or may require the purchase of the license a month ahead of time.
Also remember to schedule your officiant. If you have religious ties, then the presiding church leader can perform the ceremony. I have chosen to use a judge from the local courthouse. I don't know anyone personally that could perform the ceremony, so it was rather simple for me to just pick someone.

The Guest List and Invitations
When making the guest list, give your self time to think of everyone that is important to you and your fiance. Also remember that the reception site might limit the number of guests that can attend. On the flip side, you should send out more invitations than what you are really expecting to come.
For my invitations I chose to announce the date through my personalized wedding web page.

This web page allows me to post a greeting on the opening page to inform my guests of the wedding plans and provides an online RSVP service. I have full control of the pages that are displayed and can set them as public, private, a mixture of the two, or disable the pages I don't intend to use. I can upload engagement pictures and receive emails when guests leave comments or RSVP.

I have successfully chosen my dress! It is from David's Bridal model numer T9466.
David's Bridal won't let me copy and paste their pictures, so I will have to paint you a picture.
My gown is a strapless fitted bodice down to the thigh where the skirt flairs out into tiers of lace. The train is a chapel train, so it isn't too long.

Remember that just dress shopping online wont cut it. Unless your dress is only available online, you need to make a trip to your dress store as soon as possible.

I currently live in Pocatello, Idaho. I am willing, though, to travel a bit for some better ceremony and reception sites.
Some places I have found for Southern Idaho Weddings are:

Basic Fees: $3,000.00, plus 6% Idaho Sales Tax (includes $100 non-refundable cleaning deposit)

Alright, I have chosen to play the role of a bride that has totally procrastinated planning her wedding, and now has to get it planned in two weeks.

My First Blog
Ok, so this is my first blog ever... and I am actually really excited. Odd that I would set up my own blog & there is a question about the excitement... well this is all for a Writing class at Idaho State University.
A little about me:
I am a photography student at Idaho State University and I work as a server and bartender in a restaurant here in Pocatello, Idaho. I have roughly two years left, it may be longer if I switch my major to graphic design, and after that I hope to move to a larger city, maybe Portland, OR, and start my career!
I am definately excited to be finished with school, so that I can spend time doing what I really love and only have one job, not two (because school totally counts as a second job!)
Well, I don't really have much else to say at this point. I don't really know where this blog's topic will go because I don't know what my assignment consists of.
So stay tuned, & maybe you will be surprised!
